Uncle John Webber, an old citizen of this county, died yesterday at his home in Spring Creek Township, of consumption. He had been ailing for a long time and steadily getting worse and worse. He was about 70 years of age, and leaves a large family of children, some of whom are well along in years. He was the first settler on the site of this town and one of the moving spirits in locating the county seat here.

The last child of John and Eliza (Powell) Webber was Joseph Marian Webber. The tombstone appears to set his birthdate at 1850, while Herschel Dunham's research places it at 1858. The 1850 census includes Mary Emily born in 1850 and does not includes Joseph. Hence I believe his birthdate is 1858. Joseph died in 1860.
