Retirement article Corpus Christi Times - August 12, 1952
 G. L. (Gil) Limerick
Gil Limerick, known throughout South Texas as the "Friendly Irishman," owner of the Limerick Furniture Company, which has served the people of South Texas for the past 15 years, is retiring from business. Mr. Limerick has leased his building at 205 South Chaparral and will hold a gigantic sale ___ selling out all furniture and fixtures to the bare walls. The building must be vacated promptly.
Mr. and Mrs. Limerick, owners, wish to thank their many friends and customers for their past business and as a last friendly gesture they are offering their entire stock of find furniture, carpets, appliances and drapery materials to their customers at wholesale cost.
Mrs. Limerick, who is an interior decorator of statewide reputation and who has been associated with Mr. Limerick in the operation of their joint business, wishes to thank all of her many friends and customers in South Texas for the nice friendly relations she has enjoyed in helping them with their decoration problems for the past 15 years.
Mr. Limerick will devote most of his time to his ranching interests in Bee County where he raises registered Hereford cattle and registered quarter horses.
Mr. & Mrs. Limerick also expect to do some extensive traveling to South America, Europe and Hawaii in 1953.
All accounts owed to the Limerick Furniture Company are to be paid at the Limerick Furniture Building 205 South Chaparral.
