1 CONT Hiram Edward Byrd, 91, of Mountain Home passed away Saturday, March 31, 2007. He was born to David and Lucy Hargrave Byrd December 5, 1915, in the Baxter County community of Nubbin Ridge.
He was a lifetime resident of Baxter County. Serving in the European Theater with the 102nd Infantry Division (Ozarks) during WWII, he was awarded the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars for Service in Combat. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3246, the Military Order of the Purple Heart # 851, and the Baxter County Historical Society. As a businessman in Mountain Home, he owned Byrd Insurance and had interests in real estate.
He is survived by his wife Gertie; four sons: Hiram Byrd, Jr, and his wife Carole, Bryan Byrd and his wife Debbie, Dwight Byrd and his wife Carol, and Barett Byrd and his wife Michele; two sisters: Margie Dahlke and Josephine Pool; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a flock of nieces and nephews.
Hiram was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Tipton, Harlin, Freddie, and Marvin Byrd; and three sisters: May Turnbo, Velma Swan Ford, and Reba Dearmore.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bob Moon officiating. Interment will follow in the Conley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Midway Baptist Church.

1 CONT Margie Avalee Byrd Dahlke, age 91, of Mountain Home passed away Aug. 20, 2009 at Good Samaritan . Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 PM Sun. Aug 23 at Roller Funeral Home. Funeral Services, conducted by Rev. Keith Byrd will be held at 4:00 PM at Roller Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Conley Cemetery.
1 CONT She was born May 3, 1918 in Mountain Home to David Martin and Lucy Priscilla Hargrave Byrd. She married George August Dahlke on August 6, 1936. Mrs. Dahlke was the first Baxter County Librarian and owner of Lady Fair. She was a charter member of Midway Baptist Church, Midway Volunteer Fire Department Auxilliary, B & PW and Eastern Star.
1 CONT Survivors include three sons: George R. Dahlke and wife Esta Mae of North Little Rock, Milton
Dahlke and wife Beverly , D.A. Dahlke, all of Mountain Home;. one daughter, Sandra Stormzand of Springfield, MO; eight grandchildren: Ramona, Tim, Melissa, David, Doin ,Stacey, Stephanie and Scott.; 16 great grandchildren; one sister, Josephine Pool of Bossier City, LA. And numerous nieces and nephews.
1 CONT She was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Dahlke, five brothers and three sisters.
1 CONT Memorial Contributions are suggested to Baxter County Library or Midway Baptist Church.

1 CONT Funeral services for Mrs. Maye Turnbo, 83, of Three Brothers will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lowell Tregle officiating. Visitation will be noon until time of service Wednesday. Burial will be in Conley Cemetery.
1 CONT Pallbearers will be Dr. Richard L. Byrd, Hiram Edward Byrd Jr., Dwight Byrd, Benny Byrd, D.A. Dahlke and Milton Dahlke. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Byrd; David Lee Byrd; Lindy Swan; Brian Byrd; Barrett Byrd, Col. U.S. M.C.; and George Robert Dahlke. Mrs. Turnbo passed away May 29, 2004, at her residence.
1 CONT Mrs. Maye Turnbo was born Feb. 12, 1921 in Lakeview to David Martin and Lucy Priscilla Hargrave Byrd. She married J.N. Turnbo Nov. 26, 1941, in Gainesville, Mo. She was a homemaker and ran the Three Brothers Store for many years. She served on the advisory committee to the board of directors at Baxter Regional Medical Center from 1983-2003.
1 CONT Mrs. Turnbo was a member of the Three Brothers Community Church, the Seniors Education and the Quilters Club. She enjoyed painting, quilting, gardening and cooking.
1 CONT Mrs. Maye Turnbo is survived by her husband, J.N. Turnbo; one son, Jim Turnbo and his wife, Debra, of Three Brothers; son-in-law Allen Knight of Buffalo City; one brother, Hiram E. Byrd and his wife, Gertie, of Mountain Home; two sisters, Margie Dahlke of Mountain Home and Josephene Pool of Bossier City, La.; four grandchildren, Brad Knight and his wife, Leslie, Scott Knight, Jamie Cooley and her husband, Chris, and Diana Turnbo; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
1 CONT Mrs. Turnbo was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Pamela Kay Knight; four brothers; and two sisters.
