1 CONT MORTON - Shelton Penn "Jack" Burke, 91, died Saturday, May 29, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Jackson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Burke was born in Sapulpa, Okla. He moved from Quanah to Morton in 1926. He married Iva Mae Lackey in 1929 at Portales, N.M. She died in 1990. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Morton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. He was a heavy-machine operator for the city of Morton and Cochran County. Survivors include four sons, C.E. Stevens of Cranfills Gap, Kenneth Burke of Morton, Dewayne Burke of Sapulpa and Penn Tom Burke of Gainesville; nine grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

1 CONT EARNEST FRANKLIN MCMAHON
1 CONT Services were conducted last Thursday at the Whiteville Baptist Church for Ernest Franklin McMahon, 59, of Route 1, Gassville, who died Monday of last week at the Baxter General Hospital.
1 CONT The son of Christopher C. McMahon and Lou Giller McMahon, he was born at West Plains, Mo., May 14, 1912, and was a lifetime resident of this area. He was single, and a member of the Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church.
1 CONT Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Roberts of Gassville and Mrs. Lucille Zirsczirschky of Clinton; a brother Bill Bridgeman of Union Mo.; several nieces and nephews.
1 CONT Bro. Otha McCracken, a Baptist minister, officiated at the funeral service. Interment was in the Whiteville Cemetery under the direction of the McClure-Smith Service.
1 CONT Pallbearers were Laurel Reed, Rex Reed, Johnnie Reed and Harvey Smith.
