CLYDE GILBERT IVES
Clyde G. Ives, 84, of Hanford, CA died Sunday, November 13, 1988 , at Hanford
Community Hospital, Kings CO., CA.
Clyde Gilbert Ives was born April 8, 1904 to Cliff and Jesse Ives at Oquawka, Henderson
Co., IL. It was here that he grew up and attended elementary and high school. As a
young man he received Christ as his Savior and was baptized and became a member of a
the Rozetta Baptist Church. At the age of 18 years, Clyde moved to Des Moines Iowa
where he worked for a number of years with his uncle and learned the electrician trade.
He later moved to Texas where he worked for the Defense Contractor at an Air Force
Base. After the war in 1945, he made a move to Compton, CA , where he operated a
service station for many years. Mr. Ives married Lois Davis in 1953. In 1976 the
couple moved to Hanford,CA where they loved until his death.
1 CONT Visitation will be from 1- 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Grangeville Cemetery.
1 CONT Surviving are his wife, a step-son, Gerald Davis, Claremont, CA and step-daughter,
Mrs. Genevieve Hopkins, Fresno, CA; three brother, Harold Ives, Long Beach, CA, Lloyd
Ives, Keithsburg, IL and Kenneth, Ives , Collinsville, IL; eight grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren
