1 CONT J. N. Turnbo, age 85, of Mountain Home, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at his residence. He was born November 15, 1921, in Oakland, Arkansas, to Sidney Walter and Zella Jeanette Coplin Turnbo. On November 26, 1941, he married Maye Byrd at Gainesville, Missouri. A lifetime area native, Mr. Turnbo was a World War II U.S. Army veteran having served in the Pacific Theatre, a member of the Arkansas and Baxter County Cattlemen's Association, the Baxter County Fair Board for 36 years, the Mountain Home School Board for 13 years, ASCS for 35 years, the Baxter County Soil and Water Conservation District for 40 years, and was a Farm Bureau board member. As a lifetime rancher, he enjoyed raising cattle, deer and turkey hunting.
 Survivors are: a son: Jim N. (Debra) Turnbo: Three Brothers, Arkansas; 4 grandchildren: Brad (Leslie) Knight; Scott Knight; Jamie (Kris) Cooley; and Diana Turnbo; a great-granddaughter: Sydnee Knight; a son-in-law: Allen Knight; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter: Pamela Kay Knight; and a sister: Naomi Francis.
 A funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lowell Tregle officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Wednesday. Interment will be in Conley Cemetery.

 A funeral for Blanche M. Brown, 86, of Mountain Home will be at 3 p.m. today at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home with Pastor R. L. Custer officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, at Baxter Regional Medical Center.
1 CONT She was born Aug. 20, 1920, at Neelyville, Mo., to Jesse and Lula McBroom Todd.
1 CONT She married Kirby E. Brown Sept. 19, 1942, in Ohio and was a homemaker.
1 CONT She lived in Mountain Home since moving from Westland, Mich., in 1981.
1 CONT Mrs. Brown enjoyed sewing, carpentry work and crossword puzzles.
1 CONT She was family-oriented, a great mathematician and loved her little dog "Biscuit."
1 CONT She was a member of Gamaliel Baptist Church and taught children's Bible classes.
1 CONT She is survived by two sons, Kirby (Doris) Brown and Stephen (Janis) Brown, both of Mountain Home; two daughters, Jo Nell (James) Higgins of Midway and Laurel Ayers of Mountain Home; eight grandchildren, Jerome (Carla) Nichols, Joseph (Inez) Nichols, Michael (Missy) Brown, Jason Brown, Kirby (Melissa) Brown, Joshua (Julia) Ayers, Sarah (Jerry) Rook and Rachel (Nathan) Farris; and four great-grandchildren, Bailey Nichols, Garrett Brown, Graci Brown and Eli Ayers.
1 CONT She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.
1 CONT Burial will be at Mountain Home Cemetery with Jerome Nichols, Joseph Nichols, Michael Brown, Jason Brown, Kirby A. Brown and Joshua Ayers as pallbearers.
