Telitha Cuma Childers Webber

Joseph Webber was born December 27, 1820 probably in Illinois, the son of John Monroe Webber and Elizabeth Sauerman McQueen, who were married June 11, 1816 in Pittsburg, Maryland.
Joseph married Orlena Childers March 7, 1844. One son, John, was born October 23, 1845. After Orlena’s death, on March 17, 1847, Joseph married her cousin (or sister???) Telitha Cuma Childers March 18, 1847, in Lawrence County, Arkansas. Telitha, born February 15, 1828, was one of eleven children born to John and Rutha (Cowan or Cain) Childers. The name "Telitha Cuma" may seem odd, but it comes the Bible (Mark 5:41). Here are a couple translations:
1. King James Version: And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
2. New American Standard: Taking the child by the hand, He said to her, "Talitha kum!" (which translated means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!").
Land records show Joseph Webber family in Baxter County in 1855 and built their farm NW of Mountain Home. The NW corner of the Joseph Webber land touches the SE corner of the Conley Cemetery where some family members are buried, including my Newton Webber family. There is a Webber Lane that is the section divider on the east. At the time of his will, Joseph had 360 acres of land.
