THE COWSILLS

These four brothers are the performing nucleus of the Cowsill family (with an occasional assist from mini-mommy, Barbara Cowsill). But the whole family gets in the act in some way — from father who "coordinates" to little sister who chimes in on tambourine. In order to afford all the instruments and equipment, the family lived for years in a dilapidated, 22-room Charles Addams type house without furniture in rural Rhode Island. Chance brought the group to the attention of talent-manager Leonard Stogel who introduced them to MGM records. America has taken the Cowsills to its heart and, with a long-term contract for the Ed Sullivan Show in their once-empty pockets, they've become one of the hottest properties in show business.
