WJAR:
The legendary Rhode Island-native band The Cowsills will be inducted into the New England Music Hall of Fame's class of 2024.

Formed in the 1960s, the band went on to release hit records including "Indian Lake" and "The Rain the Park and Other Things."

"Our roots are firmly planted in Rhode Island where we cut our musical teeth playing at school events and, later, at Bannister's Wharf in Newport when we went ‘pro.’ Our latest album is Rhythm of the World, but we'll never forget that the beat began in New England," The Cowsills said in a statement.

The Cowsills originally consisted of six siblings, brothers Bob, Paul, John, Bill, Barry and Richard and sister Susan, and their mom, Barbara. The New England Music Hall of Fame said that this family band was the inspiration for the hit series "The Partridge Family."

The group now consists of Bob and Paul Cowsill and Susan Cowsill Broussard, hall of fame officials said. The siblings most recently released a full-length album 'The Rhythm of the World,' and will join The Happy Together Tour later this year.

The Cowsills will be inducted into the New England Hall of Fame next Thursday at the Emerson Center in Vero Beach, Florida, hall of fame officials said.

Just last year, they released both a critically acclaimed full-length album titled The Rhythm of the World as well as the holiday themed A Christmas Offering from the Cowsills EP. Later this year, the band will join The Happy Together Tour, their ninth outing with the group of hitmakers that highlights the music of The Turtles, Jay & The Americans, and others.
