Wheeling – The Cowsills musical family will be the first headline attraction on the 1969 Oglebay Institute Summer Entertainment Series. The program will begin at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 19, in Oglebay Park Amphitheatre.
Led by Barbara, the Cowsills mother, the group gained national fame after their first recording, “The Rain, the Park, and Other Things.”
The group consists of Bill, 21; Bob, 19; Barry, 14; and John, 13. The boys are aided in their harmony at times by mama Cowsill and the only other female in the family, the youngest child Susan. The performing members are assisted in the non-performing end of the complex by their two brothers, Paul and Dick, as well as Papa Bud Cowsill.
The group currently boasts the No.1 song in the country, “Hair.”
