Cowsills

Susan Cowsill (front) had to "hang around" quite a while before her brothers accepted her as a member of their singing group. But she came into her own with her "and spaghetti" solo turn on the Cowsills' current hit, "Hair". The Cowsill brothers - Paul, John, Bob and Barry - also pictured with their mother, Barbara, will be at Hawkeye Downs Saturday and Sunday.

Although the 1969 All-Iowa fair has gone modern with new exhibits and with the newest spectacular midway rides, it has retained the basic hallmark of fairs – variety.

. . .

Variety even crops up among the singing groups who’ll be at the fair. Bobby Vinton and the Sandpipers are at the fair today and they’ll be followed by the King Family Wednesday and Thursday and by the Cowsills Saturday and Sunday.

“The King and Cowsill troupes both are family groups, of course, but they present two widely different types of shows,” Greiner said.

Mrs. Cowsill and the boys’ sister, Susan, appear with the four brothers in the first half of the show.
