Rock groups set for June Week

The Cowsills and Tommy James and the Shondells, two recording groups, will appear at the Naval Academy May 30 for the midshipmen’s June Week popular music concert.

“Hair,” by the Cowsills, passed the million and a half sales mark recently, while Tommy James and the Shondells have a big single with “Sweet Cherry Wine.”

The Cowsills will be the featured group. A family organization, they are managed by their father, Bud Cowsill. Bud spent 20 years in the Navy, retiring as a chief petty officer.

The six on-stage Cowsills will be Bob, 19; Paul, 17; Barry, 14; John, 13; Susan, 10, and Mrs. Barbara Cowsill, their mother.
