I received this wonderful email today (10/18/09) from Jay Johnson (drummer for The Blue Shadows) and wanted to share with everyone. You will love the videos!! Thanks Jay for sharing !!!!

I spent 11 years playing and touring with Billy as the Blue Shadows drummer. I got to see a lot of Bill over those years and feel blessed to have known him; he taught me a lot about music and life (sometimes by showing me what not to do).

I'd like you to know that I've recently unearthed some of the Blue Shadows' videos recorded for the promotion of their albums "On the Floor of Heaven" and "Lucky to Me". At the time of their creation I didn't think much of them. I was an art school graduate* and I thought the band deserved a more interesting treatment than we got. However, I was simply the drummer and the videos were aimed at a very mainstream Canadian country market....

In any case, seeing these videos again years later reminded me of what a dynamic band we had and that a lot of that dynamism came from the crazy creative energy that surrounded Bill.

Here's a link to my Youtube channel; you're welcome to use it or create individual links to each song. The videos cannot, however, be imbedded

Thanks again for all the hard work you've put into your site; it's a real treasure!

Jay (J.B.) Johnson.
