The Dreamers were a Santa Barbara based band from the early 80's. The core of the band was Ric Streeter and Bridget Benenate (Benenati). The band was known to have opened for The Beach Boys several times and also for Toto. The Dreamers were also known to play with The Pranks, another band that John was associated with.

Although not a full time member, John was known to have played with this band. From Facebook - Ricky H. writes of the above photo:
"The Santa Barbara News & Review (known today as the SB Independent) ran an interview with the Dreamers and needed a cover photo. Perry was out of town for some reason so we had John Cowsill take his place! John drummed many times with the Dreamers (and now with the Beach Boys). Only those who knew the band knew the secret behind this photo. Yep, window booth at the original Joe's!"
